WELCOME TO BAGUIO CITY!

It's been a year since I traveled to North.

So I decided to set up a trip so I can get away from the stress at work.

First of all, I wasn't aware that there would be a lot of people going to Baguio City this month. It's already after the Festival so I figured it would be less a hassle to travel but it's not!

Anyway, it didn't made me think to cancel the trip, since I really wanted to go.

2 weeks before the trip, I was already checking for seats and accommodation for our stay in Baguio. I'm looking for a budget friendly Transient House to stay in. I came across "Kim's Transient Houses"

They offer a lot of Transient houses. They are friendly and very accommodating. I got our unit for only 2,000.00PHP for 3 Days and 2 nights.

It has 2 Bedrooms, Private bathroom, Living room and Small Kitchen. It's good deal. Their area is located near the Loakan Airport.

If you want to check more of their units/houses, you can visit their Facebook page:
Kim's Transient Houses

Now, that I've settled a place to stay in, I went ahead to check seats on Victory Liner. It was a surprise that  it was FULLY BOOKED.

I checked other buses like Five Star and more, they are fully booked for the day we are going to leave.

Then I saw, Genesis / Joy Bus. It was deluxe / executive Bus ride. It was a bit pricey, but what the hell, the travel time will be cut short because it doesn't have any stop-overs.

So I booked the seats on Joy Bus with http://iwantseats.com.ph/

The bus has a restroom, a stewardess and they FREE drinks and snack.
The only thing I was concerned about this Bus is that they don't have a flush on their toilet. So all who is using it, it is stuck there. So I didn't use it and just held it in till we get to Baguio. Haha

THE JOURNEY

March 24, Friday

We arrived at the Genesis Terminal (New York Ave.) at around 1:00pm and went to the Joy Bus Ticketing to retrieve our reserved tickets. It was fast.

We waited for the Bus to arrive and exactly 2:00pm we left Manila.

We arrived at Baguio City shortly around 6:00pm-7:00pm and started to walk around the area. There are a lot of Taxi/Cabs in the area so there's no issue on getting a ride, if you are a Back packer.

We rode a cab going to Kim's Transient House. It was about 15-20minutes ride. We were welcomed by the staff and they were friendly, they even gave us tips if we were planning to buy fruits or vegetables in Baguio.

We settled in the unit and went Good Taste Restaurant near Burnham Park.
Here's what we ordered:

The food was so good but the serving was too many! We had to take home our left overs Haha.

After we had our dinner, we went straight to the night market. There were a lot of people. It's so crowded that we can't even shop! We wanted to check out the things there, but we're kinda scared of pickpockets lol. So we released ourselves from the crowd and went to the Food area there.

We had fun just walking around the area and it was already late so we decided to go back to our Transient House and tuck ourselves in.

March 25, 2017

We woke up around 4:00am so that we can freshen up and prepare our things. We decided to leave at around 6:00am to start to roam around Baguio City.

Our first stop is Camp John Hay. We decided to go the area to actually look for breakfast. But non of the shops are open yet except for 7eleven. So we decided to just walk around for a bit and take pictures.

Next stop, We went to Mines View Park. And there, we looked for a place to eat. Then we saw Bulalo Fiesta
We went inside and ordered some good food. We enjoyed the Bulalo, it is really yummy! They have a balcony where you can eat and see the Mountain view.

After the awesome Bulalo, we went back to Mines View Park and walked around for a bit.

Of course the view is always awesome. The goodies here in Mines View Park is much cheaper than the other places. That's a fact.

After we bought some goodies (pasalubong), we went straight to Good Shepherd which is about 20-30minutes walk from Mines View Park.

The reason we went to Good Shepherd is because of the UBE JAM! It's so good! I recommend you buy this and enjoy with Halo-Halo or any desserts!

We bought too much to continue our Tour visits, we decided to go back to our Transient House and leave the things there and go to Strawberry Farm, Benguet.

It was quite far from our location. It took about an hour to arrive at the area and our total Taxi Bill is about 250.00php (roughly).

It was breath taking. Comparing on the Town Proper, this area is much more relaxing. There are a few people in the area but not as crowded as in Burnham Park.

I tried the Strawberry Ice Cream there and it was 20php. It's a bit pricey than the normal Ice Cream sold here in Manila, but it was soooo Delicious!

We also tried their Strawberry Taho! Haha it was also Good! but not as good as the Ice Cream though.

Now that we saw and walked around the area, we decided to go back (AGAIN) to our Transient House since we bought Vegetables and Fruits and we don't want them to rot

Anyway, here's the Loakan Airport near our Transient House.

after we put the vegetables and fruits in the fridge at our Transient House, we went to Session Rd. It was so Crowded! It was like we're back in Manila.

We were lost in Session Rd. Haha, I forgot how to get to Oh My Gulay and my data sucks. But fortunately, we went to the right building.

Oh My Gulay restaurant is up to the 5F. We went up using the stairs as they don't have an elevator. haha

After we ate our lunch, we went back to the busy streets of Session Rd. and stroll. We stumble across the Baguio Cathedral Church. It was stunning! The Church is beautiful and a lot of people are going in and out to pray.

There's a small mall beside the church where I found the 50s Diner. When I first visited Baguio, 50s Diner is a few minutes away from Session Rd., now they have branches, I believe. It was awesome.

Now that we explored the area, we decided to go to Botanical Garden

Basically, the area is surrounded by flowers, trees and statues of Igorot. It was beautiful. There are a lot of locals and tourists roaming around the area. You can have picnics there and there's no entrance fee.

We just stayed at the area and took a few pictures.

After our stroll in the Botanical Garden, we went back to our Transient House to take a rest and decided to go back to the City Proper by 6:00PM to have dinner.

We had dinner at Cafe by the Ruins. I was surprised that it was almost close to Fine Dining. There was a line when we arrived there. We waited as I wanted to try the food

It was amazingly good. I can tell that the chef did a good job on our orders.

We really enjoyed dinner and I even took home a Fresh Cow's Milk from the restaurant.

After the delicious dinner, we went to Baguio Craft Brewery. I was curious about this place as I love beer. Haha

They have a huge selection!

I tried Lagud (Strawberry Beer) and my friend tried Keywheat. We ended the day by long chats and a beer from Baguio Craft Brewery.
